Quan Zhou is the leading scientist in micro- and nanorobotics at the Department of Automation and System Technology, Helsinki University of Technology, Finland. He received the M.Sc degree in Control Engineering and Dr.Tech. degree in Automation Technology from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland. He also holds a professorship at the School of Mechatronics, Northwest Polytechnical University (NWPU), Xi’An, China. During the past decade, he has worked in Finland and China as principle researcher and research leader in over ten academic, industrial and European Union projects in micro- and nanorobotics and authored more than fifty scientific publications. Dr. Zhou’s research interests include micro- and nanohandling especially methods combines robotic manipulation and self-assembly, micro- and nanorobotics and automation, micro fluid-solid interactions, biomedical robotics and artificial intelligence. Dr. Zhou is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Micro-nano Mechatronics.
